Mr. Edward Kwok Man Chan is the founder of German Pool. Since 1975, he has devoted his energy to the manufacturing industry. In 1982, Mr. Chan partnered with a German company and launched German Pool (Hong Kong) Limited. Mr. Chan has continued to build a successful water heater business in Hong Kong since then.

From product inception to design, and from production to sales, quality has always been a priority in Mr. Edward Chan's mind. He expanded his business and has developed a comprehensive product line for the kitchen appliances and cabinetry market. Under his leadership, German Pool owns a number of patented products with award-winning designs.

In 2005, Mr. Edward Chan is awarded Honorary Doctorate by Armstrong University in the United States. The same year, he received the World Most Outstanding Chinese Award from the United World Chinese Association. Mr. Chan was then awarded Honorary Fellowship by the Professional Validation Council of HK Industries in 2006. In 2007, he was named as one of the "Top 10 Talents". Later in 2011, he was conferred with Industrial Fellow by the School of Manufacturing Engineering, University of Warwick (UK), followed by the HK Polytechnic University Fellowship and Honorary Fellowship of Greater Bay Area in 2018 and 2019 respectively. Most recently in 2025, Dr. Edward Chan received the “HK Distinguished Brand Leader” award from the HK Brand Development Council. His contributions were widely recognized in both society and the industry.
