NEXT IN CHINESE STYLE (NICS) – YOUNG DESIGNER CHALLENGE 2023

To promote and celebrate the traditional cheongsam as a Hong Kong intangible cultural heritage, SPARKLE CHARITY FOUNDATION partnered with HKDI to host this competition, themed "Next in Chinese Style (NICS) – Denim Casual Wear Travel Collection." The competition invited current and former students of HKDI's Department of Fashion Image Design to combine traditional elements of cheongsams and Tang suits with Chinese fashion, employing a fusion of East and West design concepts to reshape the future style of cheongsams and Tang suits. Finalist designs were selected to grace the runway at CENTRESTAGE 2023 SPARKLE COLLECTION.
